BP CEO: Am I the only one who sees beauty in the symmetry and color of the oil gusher?

Although I don’t have any profound observations today, I wanted to ask is it just me or do others feel slightly humbled by the beauty of the constant gusher footage on CNN?  It almost has a hypnotic effect….weird.  When looking at it with the right perspective, we can appreciate this wonderful gift of beauty mother nature has given us on the ocean floor.

I cannot deny I am swept away by the gorgeous symmetry and subtle color variations of the oil plume.  Like a geyser in Yellowstone park, the gusher is bold and powerful.  Yet it also looks like a soft, puffy pillow beckoning me to take a nap.  Even at her worst, mother nature just can’t help being sexy sometimes.  I fall in love all over again every time I stare at CNN even for just a few minutes…except when Anderson Cooper is on the screen.  He kind of ruins the moment for me with all his criticism and unrealistic expectations.

I’ve noticed when look at the gusher and squint my eyes slightly I can see Margaret Thatcher’s face.  Everyone should try this.  I’m sure we will all see something different.  I’d be curious to know what Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal sees.  Movie Director James Cameron may see a large oily Oscar statue.

When the gusher is finally stopped, it will be bittersweet because in some ways I will feel like I’ve lost a lover.
