West Sixth Brewing, Taste of Belgium Short Vine and the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden are partnering for a very special 6th for a Cause - Hops for Hippos.
On February 6th at 6pm, West Sixth Brewing and the Cincinnati Zoo will join at Taste of Belgium Short Vine for a fundraising event to benefit the zoo’s prospective hippo exhibit. A West Sixth tap takeover will begin at 6pm and feature their IPA, Amber, Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter, and of course a traditional Belgian style that has never been released in Cincinnati with the Transylvania Tripel.
Taste of Belgium will be donating 6% of sales with West Sixth matching that contribution to benefit the Cincinnati Zoo. Thane Maynard, Zoo Director, Dave Jenike, Zoo COO and other zoo representatives will be on hand to discuss their good work, help bartend, provide information for those who would like to get more involved and bring excitement that only a zoo can provide.
If enjoying delicious food and drink while helping to bring hippos to the Cincinnati Zoo was not enough to motivate, how about winning prizes in a raffle and getting a special commemorative glass by simply ordering a West Sixth beer. Glasses are limited, really cool and are sure to go fast.
West Sixth began 6th for a Cause in its first month of operation to realize the mission of not only brewing great beers but also having a positive affect on the community. Until now, 6th for a Cause has always been held at the brewery’s taproom on West Sixth Street in Lexington. The partnership with Taste of Belgium, a business that has similar ideals, has allowed West Sixth to take this fundraising effort on the road and to begin to apply the breweries mission to all communities where West Sixth beer is distributed. ***
