Celebrating all that is mouthwatering and succulent, art and food mix once again to create a smorgasbord for the eyes and taste buds alike as The Carnegie hosts the opening reception for the ninth annual Art of Food on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 6-9pm. Popular with gourmands and art enthusiasts, this annual exhibition presents the always powerful impact of art and food as demonstrated by the culinary-inspired creations of local artists and top chefs from across the region.
Taking cues from the classic Candy Land board game, The Carnegie will be transformed into an edible playground full of color and themed galleries. Pam Kravetz returns to lead a team of artists creating costumes based on Candy Land characters with some special surprise performances. Visitors will be able to follow the path to visit each chef's table and mark their progress. The upper galleries will become thematic experiences from chocolate treats to the rainbow room to an indoor picnic. A visual feast to match the delicious food.
