Parade honors Bengals glorious tie
CINCINNATI - Thousands of delighted Bengals fans participated in a parade downtown this week to celebrate the Bengals' astonishing tie against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday. The four hour parade commenced at Fountain Square and travelled along many downtown streets before ending at Paul Brown Stadium for a special tie celebration. Bengals fans throughout the parade were jubilant and many fans reported feeling an overwhelming sense of victory. Bengals fan Mark Paulsen said, "This feels like a win."
During a press conference to kick-off the celebration Coach Marvin Lewis said, "Fifteen other NFL teams wish they tied last Sunday. From that standpoint we are very proud of this accomplishment. We are still undefeated in the second half of the season and that is something to build on."
Many elated Bengals fans also tailgated in downtown parking lots throughout the entire workweek to show support for the improving Bengals. The tie appears to be helping fans to regain confidence in the team. Season ticket holder Steven Phillips commented, "They had me at tie! I was beginning to avoid the games but this is a milestone that gives me a reason to keep coming down to the games."
