Queen City TV ratings surpassed by UDF security video of rotating hot dog machine
CINCINNATI, OH - Despite high hopes that the show would become a summer blockbuster, FOX19’s new reality show “Queen City” has not found a large audience. Ratings figures reveal that an accidentally aired security video of rotating UDF hot dogs drew nearly twice the number of viewers.
The video found it's way into the FOX19 programming line up after a remote camera truck inadvertantly picked up a closed-circuit signal from a nearby UDF store and transmitted it back to the station where it aired between Queen City and Spanish Cash Cab which also delivered a higher rating. “I thought about checking out Queen City,” said rotating UDF hot dog viewer Daniel Hersch. “But I knew that no matter what those sassy gals were up to, no way could it compare to the infinite drama unfolding on those hypnotic hot dog rollers.”
The ratings for the rotating hot dogs spiked sharply during a 2 minute portion of the show when FOX19 weatherman Pat Berry was filmed consuming three hot dogs and one hot mett during his lunch break.
Queen City’s ratings were also lower than those of the programs on all other local television stations including a C-SPAN overnight test pattern. FOX19 manager of reality operations James Melton is disappointed. “The Queen City ratings are going to get better,” he stated. “In the next episode we have invited the rotating hot dog machine to make an appearance. Perhaps the four ladies can auction it off for charity. Hopefully this simple tweak in the formula will give the show the impetus it needs to beat Spanish Cash Cab."
Though the ratings may not be good, the stars of Queen City remain positive. “One positive thing I learned from all this is it is really easy to learn spanish by watching Spanish Cash Cab. It's like having a Rosetta Stone kiosk right in my own apartment!" said Queen City co-star Adurucia Apana.
Queen City co-star Tracey Conrad said, “In all fairness, it is tough to compete against this awesome footage of the hot dog machine. After the last Queen City episode airs, I would be very open to considering a permanent role on the Rotating Hot Dog Machine Show.”
