2014: The year Cincinnati catches breath from 2012 World Choir Games

CINCINNATI, OH - As the Queen City reflects on the many news stories of 2014, the year will be remembered by most for a singular event. 2014 will be forever be remembered in Cincinnati history as the year the city finally caught its collective breath following the 2012 World Choir Games.

“There have been many big stories this year,” said journalist and Cincinnati historian Dr. Russell Jackson. “But, although there may still be a slight tingle of excitement still left in the air, this will undoubtedly be remembered as the year that we all were able to finally relax a little bit following the World Choir Games. This is a bittersweet moment because though I miss those choir games horribly, my doctor is thrilled to see that my vital signs are beginning to return to normal.”

Though most Cincinnatians are in agreement on the subject, some are more passionate about it than others. “Obviously, the biggest story of 2012 was the World Choir Games,” said Mt. Lookout resident Lisa Rampart. “And then of course 2013 came, where the biggest story was how we couldn’t get over the fact that the World Choir Games had come and gone and left us barely able to function. It stands to reason that the biggest story of 2014 would be a catching of the breath. Now, my biggest hope is that 2015 will be the year we can begin to dare to dream of hosting the World Choir Games again. It just can’t get here soon enough.”
